Present: Gerry Casiello, Chairman; Ben Gordon, Secretary; Joe Ventricelli, Ted Ogonek; Amy Atamian; Gary Miyashiro
Also Present: Bob Flanagan, ZEO
Ted Ogonek was seated for John Shaban and Amy Atamian was seated for Marshall Sanford.
REGULAR MEETING
1. Approval of Regular Hearing Minutes of June 23, 2010
MOTION: ~Made by Mr. Gordon and seconded by Mr. Ogonek to approve. Carried unanimously.
2. Approval of Public Hearing Minutes of June 23, 2010
MOTION: ~Made by Mr. Gordon and seconded by Mr. Ventricelli to approve. Carried unanimously.
3. Richard and Barbara Paris, 5 Main Street – Review, Accept and Schedule a Public Hearing for a Site Plan Application.
Public Hearing to be scheduled for August 11, 2010.
–Deliberations regarding Site Plan Revision and Change of Use.
This application was submitted under the revised regulations of Sec 5.6.9, whereby a donation of a small parcel of land within 50 feet of the building to the street is made to the Town of Redding. This eliminates the need of the property owner to take on the responsibility of parking. Kim Clemenza, representing the property owner Richard Paris, spoke briefly as to the proposed use of the building, a 1,000 square foot automotive themed restaurant.
MOTION: ~Made by Mr. Gordon and seconded by Mr. Ogonek to schedule a public hearing for August 11, 2010. Carried unanimously.
4. Redding Zoning Commission - Review, Accept and Schedule a Public Hearing for an Amendment to Redding Zoning Regulations.
Public Hearing to be scheduled for September 8, 2010.
The Commission briefly discussed uniformity of building facades, projections, overhangs and doorsteps. The Planning Commission considered a regulation that would allow certain projections to be allowed on front of buildings.
MOTION: ~Made by Mr. Ventricelli and seconded by Mr. Gordon to schedule a public hearing for September 8, 2010. Carried unanimously.
5. The Redding Historical Society, 43 Lonetown Road – Review with Commission a Limited Duration Special Permit for an Antique Car Show to be held on September 11, 2010 from 10:00am – 3:00pm at the 43 Lonetown Road Farm Field. Previously held in 2009.
MOTION: ~Made by Mr. Gordon and seconded by Ms. Atamian to approve the application. Carried unanimously.
6. Communications-The Commission briefly discussed pending court litigation.

Public Hearing August 11, 2010- Richard and Barbara Paris, 5 Main Street – Review, Accept and Schedule a Public Hearing for a Site Plan Application.
Public Hearing September 8, 2010- Redding Zoning Commission - Review, Accept and Schedule a Public Hearing for an Amendment to Redding Zoning Regulations
