Present: Gerry Casiello, Chairman, Marshall Sanford, Joe Ventricelli, Amy Atamian, John Shaban
Absent: Gary Miyashiro, Ben Gordon, Bob Flanagan, ZEO
Mr. Casiello seated Ms. Atamian for Mr. Gordon.
Mr. Sanford read the notice of Public Hearing for the Georgetown Holiday Festival.
Motion to approve the call of the meeting by Shaban, seconded by Atamian, unanimously approved.
William Dexter was present representing the Georgetown Holiday Festival Committee. He stated that the closing of Main Street had been amended since the original application. The street will be closed between 11 am and 12 noon to allow for a parade. The remainder of the event will be a sidewalk event with the street open to traffic.
Mr. Dexter noted that the purpose of the event was to raise awareness of the many businesses in Georgetown and generate interest. Most of the stores/restaurants have child friendly activities planned for the event.
Mr. Casiello noted that a letter of support for the event was received from Susan Jackson.
Mr. Ralph Bosch, a property owner and representative of the Georgetown Restoration Group, voiced support for the event.
Motion: move to close the public hearing by Sanford, seconded by Ventricelli. Approved unanimously.
The public hearing was closed at 7:40.
