Present: ~~Gerry Casiello, Chairman; John Shaban, Vice Chairman; Ben Gordon; Marshall Sanford; Joe Ventricelli; Amy Atamian, Gary Miyashiro
Absent: ~ Bob Flanagan, ZEO
Ms. Atamian were seated for Mr. Shaban, who arrived after the meeting began. Mr. Miyashiro was seated for the vote on Item 3.
REGULAR MEETING
1. Approval of Public Hearing Minutes September 23, 2009.
MOTION: Made by Mr. Sanford and seconded by Mr. Ventricelli to accept the minutes as corrected. Motion carried.
2. Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes September 23, 2009.
MOTION: Made by Mr. Sanford and seconded by Mr. Ventricelli to accept the minutes as submitted. Motion carried.
3. Heritage Center –Town of Redding, Community Center, Lonetown Road – Discuss with Commission a Limited Duration Permit for Holiday Gift Fair to be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Previously held last year without approval.
MOTION: Made by Ms. Atamian and seconded by Mr. Miyashiro to approve. Motion carried.
4. Redding 350 Climate Action Committee - Discuss with Commission a Limited Duration Permit for Day of Climate Action to be held on Saturday October 24th and Sunday October 25th, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Not previously held before.
MOTION: Made by Mr. Gordon to approve with the condition that nothing is sold at the event; Mr. Sanford amended the motion to include that traffic be adequately supervised. Upon second of Ms. Atamian, the motion carried unanimous as amended.
5. Joel Barlow High School-100 Blackrock Turnpike - Discuss with Commission a Limited Duration Permit for Lenihan School of Irish Dance to be held on Sunday, November 1st, 2009 from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Previously held before on 4/6/08 and 11/2/08.
MOTION: Made by Mr. Gordon and seconded by Mr. Sanford to approve. Carried unanimous.
6. Vladimir Koltchine, 36 Umpawaug Road- Discuss with Commission Site Plan Review for cubic yards of material to be brought in on property.
Present to answer questions from the Commission was Mr. Koltchine, who explained that approximately 375 cubic yards of material would be brought onto his property to fill a sloped area. Approximately 285 cubic yards would be around a pool area and another 90 yards would be around a retaining wall area. He has received approval from both the Wetlands and Planning Commissions. The project will be done over the summer.
MOTION: Made by Mr. Gordon and seconded by Mr. Ventricelli to approve. Carried unanimous.
