Present: ~~ Gerry Casiello, Chairman; Ben Gordon, Secretary; Ventricelli, Gary Miyashiro; Amy Atamian

Absent: John Shaban, Marshall Sanford, Bob Flanagan, ZEO

PUBLIC HEARING
Redding Boys and Girl Club, 170 Cross Highway – Discuss with Commission a site plan for a Town of Redding Carnival.   Public Hearing scheduled for August 12, 2009.

The public hearing was moved to September 9, 2009.

REGULAR MEETING

Mr. Miyashiro was seated for Mr. Shaban and Ms. Atamian was seated for Mr. Sanford.

1) Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes July 8, 2009
MOTION: Made by Mr. Gordon and seconded by Ms. Atamian to approve. Carried unanimous.

2) Meeting of July 22, 2009 canceled due to lack of agenda.

3) Redding Boys and Girl Club, 170 Cross Highway – Discuss with Commission a site plan for a Town of Redding Carnival.  Public hearing scheduled for September 9, 2009.

4) Georgetown Land Development – Discuss with Commission approval of amendment to site plan.

Richard Gibbons, representing Georgetown Land Development, spoke briefly with regard to the proposed amendments to the site plan, which included moving the roadway slightly to the east, removal of one building and an area of service parking.

MOTION: Made by Mr. Gordon and seconded by Mr. Ventricelli to schedule a public hearing for September 9, 2009. Carried unanimous.

5) Redding Historical Society – Discuss with Commission Limited Duration Special Permit for Antique Car Show to be held on September 12, 2009 from 10:00am thru 3:00pm. at the Lonetown Farm.  Previously held last year on September 6, 2008.

MOTION: Made by Mr. Gordon and seconded by Mr. Miyashiro to approve. Carried unanimous.


6) Redding Republican Town Committee,  – Discuss with Commission Limited Duration Special Permit for Annual Pig Roast to be held on October 18, 2009 from 2:30pm to 5:00pm at the Boy’s and Girls Club on 170 Cross Highway.  Previously held last year on October 5, 2008.  

MOTION: Made by Mr. Ventricelli and seconded by Mr. Gordon to approve. Carried unanimous.

MOTION: Made by Mr. Gordon and seconded by Mr. Ventricelli to add to the agenda the following item:

7) Lumberyard Pub, Georgetown- Discussion on Parking
Doug MacMillan, Architect, and Lisa Robinson, Lumberyard Pub, spoke briefly as to the concerns with regard to parking. Mr. MacMillan explained his proposal to build 6 pressure treated planter boxes and place them in area’s of the parking lot. These planters will act as barriers and make for a more structured parking arrangement. Reflective strips will be placed on the planters to improve visibility at night.

MOTION: Made by Mr. Gordon and seconded by Ms. Atamian to approve. Carried unanimous.

Mr. Casiello briefly discussed noise complaints and regulations with regard to tents in the parking lot of the Lumberyard Pub, and reminded Ms. Robinson that limited duration permits might be required for future activities involving tents.

MOTION: Made by Mr. Ventricelli and seconded by Mr. Gordon to remove a Cease and Desist order issued to the Lumberyard Pub on July 6, 2009. Carried unanimous.
