REGULAR MEETING:
1) Approval of Public Hearing Minutes on August 13, 2008
MOTION: Made by Mr. Miyashiro and seconded by Ms. Atamian to approve. Carried unanimous.
Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes from August 13, 2008.
MOTION: Made by Ms. Atamian and seconded by Mr. Miyashiro to approve. Carried unanimous.
2) Redding Center Firehouse, 105 Hill Road – Discuss with Commission a Special Permit Application for proposed alterations and additions.
MOTION: Made by Mr. Shaban and seconded by Mr. Miyashiro to approve the site plan with the following conditions:
a) The trash area is screened per representation at this meeting with similar detail to the mechanical equipment area, and
b) That Sec 5.1.4, Paragraph 2 as addressed in the site plan. Mr. Ventricelli amended the motion as follows: that Sec 5.1.4 be addressed, which allows the reduction of the required buffer to not less than the building setback as specified in Sec. 4.6, done in conjunction with the increased screening in the buffer area s shown in the presented site plan. Carried unanimous as amended.
3) Sixty Redding Road LLC, 60 Redding Road – Discuss with Commission a Site Plan approval for addition to existing building at 60 Redding Road.
Continuation of Public Hearing scheduled for September 24, 2008.
4) Hans and Ingela Gram, 36 Chestnut Woods Road – Discuss with Commission a Special Application for an Accessory Apartment at 36 Chestnut Woods Road.
MOTION: Made by Ms. Atamian and seconded by Mr. Shaban to schedule a Public Hearing for October 8, 2008. Carried unanimous.
5) Joel Barlow High School, 100 Blackrock Turnpike – Discuss with Commission Limited Duration Permit for “Lenihan School of Irish Dance” to be held on Sunday November 2, 2008, from 6:30am until 6:30pm. Previously held before on April 4, 2008.
Walter Czudak presented the application to the Commission. Mr. Flanagan reported that when this event had been held in April, there were no reported problems or complaints. There will be an estimated 800 attendee’s throughout the duration of the event, from 6:30 A.M to 6:30 P.M. There are no anticipated traffic problems, as three police officers will be hired for traffic control. There will also be a shuttle bus for participants and spectators from the three parking lots to be used. There will also be four security personnel and two members of the school staff working to control any traffic overflow. At this time there are no other events scheduled for that day.
MOTION: Made by Mr. Miyashiro and seconded by Mr. Shaban that no public hearing was necessary. Carried unanimous.
MOTION: Made by Mr. Shaban and seconded by Ms. Atamian to approve the application with the same conditions as the April 4 event, and that if another event is scheduled that the Commission is notified so as to accommodate it. Carried unanimously with conditions
Discussion: Mr. Flanagan reported that no Zoning permits had been received for the month of September as of yet. He has also received 100% compliance with real estate signs.
