Redding Board of Education, 33 Lonetown Road- Discuss with Commission a Revised Site Plan approval for adding additional thirteen parking spaces to the Redding Elementary School parking lot.
Peggy Sullivan presented the application to the Commission and explained that the proposed additional parking will be located in the front of the Elementary School at the part of the main entrance where buses drop off students. No trees will be removed and the spot closest to the main entrance will be designated as a handicapped parking spot. There will be limited duration signs on the other spaces of 15 minutes and 1 hour. These spaces will be primarily for parents who have to drop off something quickly can do so easily. This is a convenience for parents during the school day because the main parking lot is typically full.
The spots will be 12’ X 20’, and the handicapped spot will be 15 feet wide. This may decrease the number of spaces as the original application requests 13 spaces at 9 ‘X 24’.
