Zoning Commission Minutes 03/12/2008

Present:  Gerry Casiello; Vice Chairman, Ben Gordon; John Shaban, Gary Miyishiro, Joe Ventricelli


REGULAR MEETING

CONSIDERATION OF THE MINUTES
Approval of Regular Meeting Minutes February 27, 2008.

Mr. Casiello was not in attendance at the February 27 meeting.

MOTION: To accept the minutes as amended of the Regular Meeting of February 27, 2008. Made by Mr. Gordon and seconded by Mr. Miyishiro.

Lenihan School of Irish Dance, Joel Barlow High School- Discuss with the Commission Limited Duration Permit for Irish Dance Competition being held Sunday, April 6, 2008 from 6:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.

MOTION- Made by Mr. Gordon and seconded by Mr. Miyishiro to approve with the condition that there be sufficient security and police to keep parking off of the road and adjacent to the roadway and overflow parking will be on the septic field.

Redding Elementary School PTA- Discuss with Commission Limited Duration Permit for RES PTA Raccoon Fun Run and Walk Race    being held on May 24, 2008 from 7:00 a.m. until 12: p.m. Previously held last year.

MOTION- Made by Mr. Ventricelli and seconded by Mr. Shaban to grant with fees waived except the public notice.

Overbrook Associates LLC, 17 Main Street- Discuss with Commission Minor Site Plan Approval change for 28 Main Street, Georgetown.
Ralph Bosch said that the change involves moving a stair that runs down out of the back of the building from going down the left side to going down the right side of the building. This is due to an icing problem that was not apparent initially.

MOTION- Made by Mr. Ventricelli and seconded by Mr. Shaban that no public hearing is necessary.

MOTION- Made by Mr. Shaban and seconded by Mr. Gordon to approve the minor change.

Discussion-Sign Regulations

The Commission discussed proposed amendments to Zoning Regulation Section 5.9.1 and Section 5.9.3.
After several revisions were made to the current draft dated February 27, on the motion of Mr. Ventricelli and second of Mr. Shaban, a public hearing was set for May 14, 2008.

Future Agenda –
Temple B’Nai Chaim, 166-170 Portland Avenue, Georgetown- Discuss with Commission a Special
Site Plan Approval for addition to existing facility. Public Hearing Scheduled for March 26, 2008.
