Zoning Commission Minutes 09/26/2007

Also present:  Dennis Tobin, Assistant Zoning Officer

Mr. Taylor called the regular meeting to order at 7:30 pm.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Motion:  move to accept the minutes of Special Meeting of September 6, 2007 as submitted.  Casiello, Sanford.  Approved. Unanimous.

Motion: move to accept the minutes of the Public Hearing/Four Corners on September 12, 2007 as submitted.  Sanford, Ventricelli.  Approved. Unanimous.

Motion:  move to accept the minutes of the Public Hearing/Highstead Foundation on September 12, 2007 as submitted.  Sanford, Ventricelli.  Approved. Unanimous.

Motion:  move to accept the minutes of the Public Hearing/Mark Lake on September 12, 2007 as submitted.  Sanford, Ventricelli.  Approved. Unanimous.

Motion: move to accept the minutes of the regular meeting of September 12, 2007 as corrected. Sanford, Ventricelli.  Approved. Unanimous.
Correction:  page 1, delete the motion regarding Mark Lake; this motion appears on page 2.

NEW POND FARM: request for Limited Duration Permit
Motion:  move that the Redding Zoning Commission grant a Limited Duration Permit for the “Apple Harvest Festival” to be held on October 13, 2007 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, with a rain date of Sunday, October 14, 2007 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, waiving all fees.  Sanford, Ventricelli.  Approved. Unanimous.




196 LONETOWN ROAD, KRISTEN & GRANT MUDGE
The current owners of the property requested a special permit for a residential apartment in a detached building on their property.  The structure was built by the previous owner, but was never occupied.  A public hearing is required on the issue.

Motion:  move to schedule a Public Hearing on the Special Permit for a residential apartment request at 196 Lonetown Road on October 24, 2007.  Sanford, Casiello.  Approved. Unanimous.

REGION #9 JOEL BARLOW HIGH SCHOOL REQUEST
The Region #9 Board of Education, represented by Chairman Julia Pemberton and Art Poltrack, requested a pre-application review of the proposed Master Plan for the fields at the school campus, prior to filing a request for an amendment to the Special Use Permit for property.  Mrs. Pemberton and Mr. Poltrack reviewed the proposed changes to the fields, parking and traffic.

A pre-application Workshop was scheduled for Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at 7:30 pm in the auditorium of the Joel Barlow High School.  The Conservation and Planning Commissions will be invited to participate in the workshop.

MARK LAKE:  residential lighting
Mr. Lake was not present.

ADJOURNMENT
Motion:  That the Redding Zoning Commission meeting be adjourned.  Sanford, Casiello.  Approved. Unanimous.
