Zoning Commission Minutes 09/12/2007
Present:        Frank Taylor; Chairman, Ben Gordon, Joe Ventricelli, Marshall Sanford, John Shaban, Gary Miyashiro and Amy Atamian

Absent: Gerry Casiello, Vice Chairman

Also Present:   Dennis Tobin, Assistant ZEO

REGULAR MEETING
Mr. Taylor called the regular meeting of the Redding Zoning Commission to order at 8: 42 p.m.  

CONSIDERATION OF THE MINUTES
MOTION:  Mr. Gordon made a motion to accept the minutes of the Public hearing of August 8, 2007 as submitted.  Mr. Sanford seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.

MOTION:  Mr. Gordon made a motion to accept the minutes of the Regular meeting of August 8, 2007 as submitted.  Mr. Shaban seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.

It should be noted that both Mr. Miyashiro and Mr. Sanford were present at the Special meeting of August 20, 2006

MOTION:  Mr. Gordon made a motion to accept the minutes of the Special meeting of August 20, 2007 as amended.  Mr. Sanford seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.

Mark Lake, 291 Blackrock Turnpike-revision to the zoning regulations on residential lighting

MOTION:  Mr. Sanford made a motion to deny the application submitted by Mark Lake, 291 Blackrock Turnpike for an application to revise the zoning regulations regarding residential lighting.  Mr. Shaban seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.

Highstead Foundation, Inc., 127 Lonetown Road-Site Plan Approval to propose addition to headquarters

MOTION:  Mr. Shaban made a motion to approve the application submitted by Highstead Foundation, Inc. for a site plan proposal for an addition to their headquarters.  Mr. Ventricelli  seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.

Four Corners, LLC, 4 Old Mill Road-Site Plan Approval for office and retail store on 4 Old Mill Road, Georgetown

This application was withdrawn.

Redding Republican Town Committee- Limited Duration Permit for Pig Roast
Amy Atamian was seated for John Shaban.

MOTION:  Mr. Ventricelli made a motion to approve the application submitted by the Redding Republican Town Committee for a limited duration permit for a pig roast to be held at the Boys and Girls Club of Redding, Cross Highway on Sunday, September 30, 2007 from 2:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.  Mr. Gordon seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.

Godstow, 30 Putnam Park Road-Limited Duration Permit for “A Day of Tibetan Culture”

John Shaban was re-seated.

A representative from Godstow was present and explained that they had this event in 2003 and this will be a two part event with a concert to be given by Tibetan musicians and the Monks will be coming.

It will be a family focused event from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.  They anticipate 50-75 people and parking can be accommodated on site.  

MOTION:  Mr. Gordon made a motion to approve the application submitted by Godstow, 30 Putnam Park Road for a limited duration permit for “A Day of Tibetan Culture” to be held on September 30, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.  Mr. Sanford seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.

Discussion-GLDC Bonding

MOTION:  Mr. Sanford made a motion to place a moratorium on further demolition until $100,000.00 is made in favor of the town subject to town Counsel and Controllers approval.  Mr. Ventricelli seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.

ADJOURNMENT
MOTION:  Mr. Gordon made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:52 p.m.  Mr. Sanford seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
