PUBLIC HEARINGS
GLDC and Sierra Club of Connecticut-Limited Duration Permit for “Smart Growth
Informational Program”
Ms. Atamian was seated for Mr. Sanford and Mr. Miyashiro was seated for Mr. Ventricelli.
Ben Gordon read the legal notice into the record.
MOTION: Mr. Gordon made a motion to open the public hearing for GLDC and Sierra Club for
an application for a limited duration permit for a “Smart Growth Informational Program”. Mr.
Casiello seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
Mr. Richard Gibbons was present for the application and explained that this event will be co-
sponsored by GLDC and Sierra Club to discuss Smart Growth.
They plan to have a tent in the parking lot for which they have obtained an application for a
permit from the Building Department. Parking will be in the parking lot adjacent to the
placement of the tent.
They anticipate approximately 100 people.
Bathroom facilities are inside headquarters buildings and there will also be porta-johns available.
Police Officers will be available to assist with traffic.
The walking tour will be limited as they in the process of doing asbestos removal.
No signs will be placed for this event.
The hours of the event will be from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on October 21, 2006.
MOTION: Mr. Casiello made a motion to close the public hearing on the application submitted
by GLDC and the Sierra Club. Mr. Gordon seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
