PUBLIC HEARINGS
GEORGETOWN FIRE DISTRICT, GEORGETOWN, CT
Mr. Gordon read the legal notice into the record.
MOTION: Mr. Sanford made a motion to enter the public hearing for Georgetown Fire District,
Georgetown, Ct. for a Special Site plan for Administrative Offices at 61 Redding Road. Mr.
Gordon seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
Dan Conlin was present for the application and explained revisions to the plans for 61 Redding
Road. The property is owned by the Georgetown Fire District and they would like to convert this
building into Administrative Offices. The last use was for a deli. Currently the building is
vacant.
The existing building spans a watercourse. A professional engineer was hired to determine the
flood elevation in a 100 year event. It was determined that the first floor of the building is at
elevation 310.5 and the flood elevation is 301.5. They have also checked with DEP and they do
not have jurisdiction.
The Conservation Commission has granted approval and the Zoning Board of Appeals has
granted a variance for the vestibule.
They would like to abandon the access from Route 107. Easements to pass and re-pass have been
recorded on the land records and copies were submitted to the Commission.
The addition will be two stories and the area over the stream will be one story.

They will connect to city water and do not anticipate any problems obtaining approvals from the Sewer Authority.
Ralph Bosch is concerned about the parking shortage in this area now and feels that the asphalt that currently exists could be beneficial to the area. He also suggested the use of sidewalks.
