PUBLIC HEARING
3. Georgetown Land Development, Main Street Georgetown
Mr. Taylor reconvened the public hearing for the application submitted by Georgetown Land
Development at 7:44 p.m.
Information from the Planning Commission was distributed to the Commission by Mr. Taylor. A
copy was provided for the file.
Attorney Richard Gibbons was present and stated that there were six conditions which the
Planning Commission required for approval. Mr. Gibbons provided the addendum he submitted
to the Planning Commission regarding the Special Conditions. Subdivision Approval was
granted by the Planning Commission.
Information provided by Milone and MacBroom was also distributed to the Commission and the
file. Nicole Bernham was present and submitted a letter she sent to the applicant, which was
dated April 4, 2006. She indicated that the biggest issue left unresolved is the flood plain
management. She recommended the Commission consider the conditions which she attached to
her letter. Pertinent sections of FEMA were also attached to her letter for review by the
Commission.
Gerry Casiello stated that consideration needs to be given for the hours of operation of
construction in this zone. The hours of operation should be the same in this area as in the
residential zone and there should be no work on Sundays. Mr. Gibbons stated that this request is
reasonable.
Gene Connelly of Leaker Hill was present and questioned how much research has been done to
resolve the deficiency or how much longer before a solution is reached regarding affordability
and age restricted housing. Mr. Casiello explained that there is age restriction in the housing plan
and there are two sets of laws which must be followed. The objective is to have a tax neutral
development.
MOTION: Mr. Casiello made a motion to close the public hearing for Georgetown Land
Development. Mr. Sanford seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
