Chairman Taylor called the regular meeting of the Redding Zoning Commission to order at 8:13
p.m.
APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING OF MARCH 22, 2006
The following corrections should be noted on the minutes of the public hearing of March 22,
2006:

MOTION: Mr. Casiello made a motion to approve the minutes of the public hearing of
March 22, 2006 as amended. Mr. Sanford seconded the motion and it was carried

MOTION: Mr. Sanford made a motion to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of
March 22, 2006 as submitted. Mr. Casiello seconded the motion and it was carried
unanimously.
1. Redding Garden Club & New Pond Farm-Limited Duration Permit for Garden Tour called for Love of Gardening on Saturday June 10, 2006 between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00p.m.
MOTION: Mr. Gordon made a motion to approve the application submitted by Redding Garden
Club and New Pond Farm for a Limited Duration Permit for a Garden Tour called “For Love of
Gardening” on Saturday, June 10, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Mr. Ventricelli seconded
the motion and it was carried unanimously.

2. New Pond Farm, 101 Marchant Road-Limited Duration Permit for “Holiday Farmers Market” on Saturday and Sunday, October 28, and 29, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
MOTION: Mr. Gordon made a motion to approve the application submitted by New Pond Farm
for a limited Duration Permit for “Holiday Farmers Market” on Saturday and Sunday, October
28, and 29, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Mr. Ventricelli seconded the motion and it was
carried unanimously.
3. Martha Gantsoudes, 279 Poverty Hollow Road-Site Plan approval for increase out door arena riding surface 30 feet.
Gene Lazzarro was present for the application and submitted a packet of information to the Commission. The property consists of 107 acres and it is their own riding facility. They want to re-grade the surface and add two inches of new surface in addition to increasing the size of the riding area by 30 feet. The addition of 30 feet will require 400 yards of fill, but less than 300 yards of fill will be moved on and off the site.
MOTION: Mr. Casiello made a motion to approve the site plan submitted by Martha Gantsoudes for the increase of their outdoor riding area of 30 feet. Mr. Gordon seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
4. Maureen Grimaldi, 22 Hopewell Woods Road-Special Permit for a Residential in-law apartment on 22 Hopewell Woods Road.
The entire addition will be 720 square feet and the in law apartment will be 600 square feet.
MOTION: Mr. Sanford made a motion to schedule a public hearing for the application submitted by Maureen Grimaldi for a residential in-law apartment on property located at 22 Hopewell Woods Road for May 10, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Casiello seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
5. Town of Redding Garage, 28 Great Oak Lane-Site Plan Approval for small office addition 20 by 30.
The proposal is for a 20 by 30 foot addition for office space. Plans for this proposal were presented to the Commission.
MOTION: Mr. Sanford made a motion to approve the application submitted by the Town of Redding for a 20 by 30 foot addition on property located at 28 Great Oak Lane and fees shall be waived with the exception of the publication fees. Mr. Casiello seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
6. Park and Recreation-Limited Duration Permit for Concern and Movie Nights on the Town Green from June until the end of August, 2006.
A representative from Park and Recreation was present and explained that they would like to have one movie night on the Green after the concert and the other at the Elementary School.
Gail Bishop of 15 Cross Highway was present and opposed the movies on the Green due to the noise it causes. She explained that the concert is for two hours and then the movie would be an additional two or more hours. Last year, she was able to hear everything in her house.

MOTION: Mr. Gordon made a motion to approve the concerts on the Green. Mr. Casiello seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
MOTION: Mr. Casiello made a motion to deny the movie on the Green for August 20, 2006. Mr. Sanford seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
MOTION: Mr. Casiello made a motion to approve the one movie night at the Elementary School for either August 19, or 20, 2006. Mr. Gordon seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
7. Mark Twain Library, Redding-Limited Duration Permit for Frog Frolic Fair to be held May 6, 2006 at the Redding Community Center from 11:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m.
MOTION: Mr. Casiello made a motion to approve the application submitted by the Mark Twain Library for a Limited Duration Permit for Frog Frolic Fair to be held May 6, 2006 at the Redding Community Center from 11:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. Fees shall be waived with the exception of the publication fees. Mr. Sanford seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
8. Historical Society, Lonetown Road-Limited Duration Permit for Country Fair and Tractor Show/Pull on June 3, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
MOTION: Mr. Sanford made a motion to approve the application submitted by the Historical Society for a limited duration permit for a Country Fair and Tractor Show/Pull on June 3, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Mr. Ventricelli seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
9. Georgetown Land Development, Main Street, Georgetown-Site Plan approval for “Main Site”
Further discussion was tabled. The Commission will discuss this in great length at their next meeting.
ADJOURNMENT
MOTION: Mr. Sanford made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:55 p.m. Mr. Gordon seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
