Motion: move that the minutes of the April 28, 2010 meeting be accepted as submitted. Moisio, Eubanks. Approved. Unanimous.
REPORT FROM VEOLIA WATER
Mr. Gervais provided a written monthly report and reviewed the contents with the Commission.
- SCADA system repair cost from Aaron Associates for communication issues was a total of $1350.00. Following the repair, the system crashed, Aaron Associates cleaned the two hard drives, but recommended new hard drives. Two new hard drives have been installed at a cost of $200.00 not including labor.
- Flows are averaging 55,000 gallons per day
- Noise complaint: Mr. Gervais reported his assistant had been running the blowers on “auto” instead of “manual” and that may have been the cause for the noise complaint. The blowers will operate on manual to prevent further noise issues.
Line walk: a tentative date of June 7, 2010, at 8 am was set to walk the sewer line, including the Meadow Ridge line and the Georgetown line. The group will meet at the plant..
UPDATE ON GEORGETOWN PROJECT
The sale of the property is scheduled to occur sometime in June. Callen Cooper (buyer) has requested a meeting with Chairman Shaban and Mrs. Moisio. That will be scheduled for next week.
Commission members discussed the need for a capital account to cover future repairs/replacement of parts of the treatment facility. Commission members felt the concept of the Town of Redding participation in the cost of the facility repair/replacement should be explored.
REQUEST FROM RICHARD PARIS
Richard Paris requested WPCC approval for his addition of a restaurant facility. He submitted a letter from his engineers, LPR Associates, indicating the total proposed facility daily water usage would be 690 gpd. Health Officer, Doug Hartline, submitted his review and recommendations for the facility.
Motion: move that the Water Pollution Control Commission approve the request of Richard Paris for Fender’s Café at 5 Main Street, Georgetown, with Health Officer Hartline’s recommendations and the certification from LPR Associates, for 690 gallons per day of water usage; the approval will be revisited in 1 year and revoked if the facility is not completed; any further change in use of the facility will require approval of the WPCC. Shaban, Robinson. Approved. Unanimous.
