MINUTES

Tuesday, July 14, 2009
8:00 p.m. – Old Town House

Present:  Diane Taylor, Chairman; Robert Dean; Nancy King; Jerry Sarnelli, Alt., seated for M. Bakanas.

Absent: Michael Bakanas; Thomas Flagg; Toby Welles, Alt.

Also present: Jo-an Brooks, Land Use Coordinator

The Chairman called the meeting to order at 8:05 p.m.

I.      APPROVAL OF MINUTES             -Meeting of 6/9/09
                        Road Regulations Revisions Meeting 6/16/09

On the motion of D. Taylor and the second of J. Sarnelli, the Commission voted unanimously to approve the 6/9/09 Meeting Minutes.

On the motion of R. Dean and the second of N. King, the Commission voted unanimously to approve the Road Regulations Revision Meeting Minutes.

II.     ADMINISTRATIVE

1.  Scenic Road Flyer.  Discussion.

The draft flyer was reviewed.  J. Brooks will investigate funding sources for postage.  J. Sarnelli will print the interior of the flyer and R. Dean will print the exterior of the flyer.

Methods for distribution and marketing were discussed.  J Sarnelli will write a commentary for The Redding Pilot after funding has been secured.

2.  TPCD Recommendations.  Subcommittee Recommendations for future action.

Draft copy of the final 2008 plan was reviewed for printing.  Subcommittee Chairs will review the final draft to ensure inclusion of final corrections and edits.  B. Flanagan is working with Fuss & O’Neill re: maps.  

Recommendations for future action will be discussed at the next meeting.

3. Subdivision Regulation Revisions: Discussion of John Hayes’ letter and draft Chapter 5.

J. Hayes’ letter and draft Chapter 5 were reviewed.  Commissioners will review and discuss at the next meeting.

4. Traffic Calming Methods.  Discussion scheduled for Selectmen’s meeting on 7/20/09.

Commissioners are encouraged to attend the 7/20/09 Selectmen’s meeting at 7:30 p.m.  

III.    PENDING

1. Designation of Station Road as a Scenic Road.  Approved 3/10/09.  Photos of road edges received for review.  T. Welles will report.  C. Couch full report received.

No new information or discussion.

2. Reference Application #473, Lot 1, 36 Umpawaug Road, Vladmir and Nilolaeva Koltchine.  Request to locate pool outside Building Restriction Line to accommodate pool.  Site Walk 3/28/09.  Pending receipt of maps and wetlands report.

No new information or discussion.

IV.     CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

Re: Drummer Lane curbing.  Commissioners will drive by to inspect new curbing/drainage.


On the motion of R. Dean, the Commission voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 9:07 p.m.
