Topstone Park
Our park is a beautiful 280 acre facility maintained by the Park and Recreation Department. Topstone offers recreational swimming, Red Cross swim lessons, tetherball, canoeing, hiking trails, picnic tables, grills, and a basketball court.

The Park will be open on weekends starting June 3rd and on weekdays after school gets out. We hope to keep the Park open until school begins and on Labor Day Weekend.

Residents may purchase a season pass at the Park and Recreation office or by mail only or may pay a daily fee of $4 for adults, $3 for children and $2 for seniors at the gate.

Forms are available at the office or online

Season passes are $55 for adults/ $40 for kids or get a family pass for $120. Seniors 60 years or older  pay only $20 per person for a pass. This year with the purchase of a family season pass or a senior pass, we will include 4 one-day guest passes so you can bring along some friends or relatives to visit the park with you.

ID is required as proof of residency when purchasing your pass. Acceptable forms of ID include: a driver’s license, tax bill or current utility bill. PO boxes are not acceptable. Once again, Topstone passes can only be purchased at the Park and Rec. department during normal working hours or by mail.  Forms are included in this brochure.

Although we call them passes, we actually have a list of pass holders at the park. Showing your drivers license to the gate guard and having them check the passholders list will permit your entry into the park. Those paying the daily fee should bring their drivers license to prove residency.

Guests of residents pay $1 more for daily use of the park than residents and non-residents pay double the resident fees.

Hiker
A “family”, for our purposes, is any two adults who live at the same address year round and children who live at that address.
You may buy a separate pass for one Nanny (or additional adults who live in that household) at a reduced rate of $25 per person. You may also choose to count the nanny as one of the two adults in the household (In that case, the second parent must then pay the $4 daily resident fee when they attend).
Summer guests or family members who live outside Redding, and are not Redding taxpayers, must pay the daily guest fee or non-resident fee.
Pass holders who will have people visiting for a week may purchase a weekly guest pass good for any consecutive 8 day period for $10.00 ($8 for youth) in order to save money. They, of course, may only attend when accompanied by the resident.
Swim lesson scheduled will be out in early June

Youth pass holders 13 and older have full use of Topstone without an adult being present. Children twelve and under are required to have their parents with them to use the park.

Parents of non-swimmers are expected to be in the water within arms length of their children. No flotation devices are permitted except certified lifejackets.

Children 11 years and older may use the canoes or paddle boats if their parents sign the canoe out for them. Nine and ten year olds must have parents in the boats with them but may use the small easy to handle funyaks provided their parents sign them out.
