EXTENDED DAY 08-09 REGISTRATION UPDATE 3-11-08
EXTENDED DAY 08-09 REGISTRATION UPDATE 3-11-08

On Tuesday, March 11, the lottery for the second priority tier was held in the Park and Recreation office by two non-Park and Recreation professionals.  The second priority level was only for new Frequent Flyers in grades 1 – 4.  The results are in!

A waiting list now exists for both kindergarten and grade 1-4 Frequent Flyers.
The third priority registration will be for the wait list and is INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT.  Please continue reading!

PLEASE take the time to drop off a REQUEST FOR WAIT LIST form for the next priority level and beyond!  The third priority level is for “regular schedules 2 or 3 days per week consistently throughout the school year.”  You may also use this form if you know ANY of your after school childcare needs for next year, for example “every Wednesday” or  “alternate Fridays”, etc.

This “Request for Wait List” form must be completed and turned in to the Park and Recreation office before 7:30pm on March 20, 2008.

This can be done by drop in during business hours.  Park and Recreation office hours are 9:00am–4:30pm, Monday through Friday.  You may also use the after hours drop box outside the Redding Community Center.  No FAX’s, please.

Forms will be placed on the appropriate category’s wait list by lottery.  Any forms received after the above date (March 20) will be placed on a wait list in the order in which they were received.

IMPORTANT:  The Park and Recreation Department will share a summary of the overall need for after school care that is discovered through our early registration process with the Redding Boys and Girls Club.

The Redding Boys and Girls Club is actively exploring the development of an after school program to address the needs of Redding parents who may be unable to participate in the Park and Recreation Department’s Extended Day program due to a limited number of openings.

If a program is developed, Park and Recreation will provide the Redding Boys and Girls Club with a mailing list of the waitlisted families who have completed the “Request for Wait List” form.
