The Director of Human Services offers a variety of services to residents of all ages who qualify.

The following is a list of services the department offers:
  • Assistance with Medicare questions,
  • ConnPACE applications,
  • Meals on Wheels,
  • town and state social services,
  • Housing assistance,
  • long term care insurance,
  • supplement insurance health care,
  • Transportation,
  • outreach,
  • local senior and community groups,
  • food pantry,
  • fuel assistance, and
  • holiday programs.
The department offers referrals for Medicaid, Substance abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, sexual abuse and its prevention.

The Town of Redding offers an emergency fuel bank to residents who meet specific guidelines.  The Operation Fuel Program and donations from local churches and residents fund this program. Call (203) 938-3580 for information

Transportation is offered to senior and disabled residents.  The Town offers rides to Redding, Bethel, Ridgefield and Danbury.  The hours are 8 AM–5 PM Monday-Wednesday. On Thursday the hours are 8AM- 4:30 PM. Call (203) 938-9725 to make a reservation.  Priority is given for medical appointments.
