REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 9, 2008
9:00 a.m.

The meeting was called to order at 9:08 a.m.

Ms. Kopfstein distributed the COA Meeting schedule for 2008.

I.      Approval of Minutes from December 5, 2007
        The Commission reviewed the Minutes from December 5, 2007.  Ms. Metzger did not attend the teleconferenced meeting regarding    Georgetown Land Development.
        Page 2, paragraph 2, the word “groups” will be added to the first sentence to read “…town agencies and groups such as New Pond  Farm…”
                The minutes were approved as corrected.
           
II.     Public Participation
        There was no participation from the public.
        
III.    Reports
        Ms. Schiron presented the Municipal Agent Reports from November and December.  The Commission discussed budget issues and       reviewed the current draft of the Municipal Agent and Heritage Center budgets.  Ms. Schiron presented the Heritage Center Report        as Ms. Sibilio was not in attendance. Van trips totaled 174, up from December; 1,632 miles were traveled during December.       

        Ms. Metzger reported that there are no GLD Senior Affordable Housing updates. The Board meets on January 29th for their quarterly       meeting.

Ms. Metzger reported that the Mark Twain Library is pleased that the Heritage Center will participate in their Centennial Celebration. The focus of the Heritage Center’s contribution will be memories and stories about the library from seniors that have been involved with the library.
Ms. Cianci wanted to stress the message that creativity does not diminish as we get older and wanted to include in the message a focus on the bridge between the younger and older residents.


IV.     New Business
        There was no new business.

V.      Adjournment
        The next COA meeting is scheduled for February 6, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.
        There being no further business before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned at 10:10 a.m.
