MINUTES

Tuesday, December 21, 2010
7:30 p.m. – Old Town House

Present: David Pattee, Chairman; Jeremiah Ross; William Hill; Stuart Green; Wallace Perlman.

Absent: Joseph Beres; Victor DeMasi

The Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:33 p.m.

I.      APPROVAL OF MINUTES             -Minutes of December 7, 2010

On the motion of J. Ross and the second of W. Perlman, the Commission voted unanimously to approve the 12/7/10 Meeting Minutes.

II.     REGULATORY

Application #10-26, Karen and Leon Weaver, 118 Mountain Road.  To receive and discuss an application for construction of a Conservatory within the regulated area.

Mr. and Mrs. Weaver were present.  Mr. Weaver reviewed the proposal accompanied by a drawing.

A Site Walk was scheduled for Wed., 12/29/10 at 8:30 a.m.

Application #10-27, Bernard and Joan O’Neill (owners), Linda Rachele Burke (agent), 207 Lonetown Road.  To receive and discuss an application for construction of driveway, house and yard for single-family residence within the regulated area.

Mr. and Mrs. O’Neill were present along with Linda Rachele Burke and Brian Baker from Civil 1.  The proposal and accompanying map were reviewed by Mr. Baker.  

F. Schroeder, neighboring property owner, informed the Commission of the presence of a vernal pool nearby.  

A Site Walk was scheduled for Wed., 12/29/10 at 9:00 a.m.  Stakes should be placed at the corners of the proposed house, driveway and septic system locations.

Application #10-28, Region 9 Board of Education (owners), Walter Czudak (agent), 100 Black Rock Turnpike.  To receive and discuss an application to install Baseball and Softball Scoreboards within the regulated area.

Walter Czudak was present.  Proposed plans for softball and baseball scoreboards were reviewed in detail.

A Site Walk was scheduled for Wed., 12/29/10 at 9:30 a.m.  Stakes should be placed at the proposed post locations of the scoreboards.

III.    CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

D. Pattee noted receipt of a letter from N. Ketcham thanking Fred Schroeder for his 16 years of service on the Conservation Commission.

Deer report update was reviewed by D. Pattee.

Open Space tax incentive was announced today.

Engineering standards and definitions have been updated and will be published shortly.

Possibility of Redding students participating in invasive species removal was discussed.

D. Pattee attended the Land Trust Board meeting on 12/17/10 re: Land Manager position.  Salary will be a line item for the 2011 budget and will be split with the Land Trust.

S. Green provided a brief update re: burning ordinance.

Turkington Falls Preserve was discussed.


On the motion of J. Ross and the second of W. Perlman, the Commission voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 9:05 p.m.
