MINUTES

Tuesday, September 21, 2010
7:30 p.m. – Old Town House

Present:  David Pattee, Chairman; Jeremiah Ross; William Hill; Frederick Schroeder; Joseph Beres; Wallace Perlman.

Absent: Victor DeMasi

The Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:32 p.m.

I.      APPROVAL OF MINUTES     -Minutes of September 7, 2010
                        Site Walk, 9/10/10, 87 Marchant Road, Mr. and Mrs. T. Healy

On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of F. Schroeder, the Commission voted unanimously to approve the 9/7/10 Meeting Minutes as submitted.

On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of F. Schroeder, the Commission voted to approve the 9/10/10 Site Walk Minutes as submitted.  W. Hill abstained.

II.     REGULATORY

Application #10-21, Town of Redding (owners), Donald Takacs (Ch. Athletic Fields Committee, agent), 37 Lonetown Road, Redding Community Center.  Received 8/17/10.  Discussion and possible vote on an application for Athletic Field Improvements, Redding Community Center, Field #2 within the regulated area.  Site Walk 8/27/10.  Discussion 9/7/10.

D. Takacs was present along with Barry Blades.  Revised plans were displayed and reviewed by Mr. Blades.

On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of J. Ross, the Commission voted unanimously to approve Application #10-21 subject to receipt of a finished plan for SK100, Shift Field 20 for Study.

Application #10-22, Thomas F. and Teresa M. Healy, 87 Marchant Road.  Received 9/7/10.  Discussion and possible vote on an application to dredge pond and repair dam/retaining wall.  Site Walk 9/10/10.

Mr. Healy was present.  D. Pattee noted receipt of and reviewed a letter from B. Roche of Aquarion.  Mr. Healy reviewed the proposed repair plan and sequence.

On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of F. Schroeder, the Commission voted unanimously to approve Application #10-22.

Application #10-23, Connecticut Department of Transportation (owner), Metro North Railroad, Douglas E. Schroeder (agent), Umpawaug Road.  To receive and discuss an application for installation of a Beaver Pond Leveler into active Beaver Dam.

No one was present for the applicant.  D. Pattee reviewed the status of the application.  Discussion will continue pending attendance by the applicant.

III.    CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

J. Ross reported on the upcoming schedule of events re: field trip hike for the Land Trust Alliance Annual Meeting, 10/2/10.  

F. Schroeder reported on the status of a field cutter for Couch Hill Preserve.


On the motion of J. Ross and the second of W. Hill, the Commission voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 8:28 p.m.
