MINUTES
Tuesday July 6, 2010
7:30 p.m. - Old Town House
Present: D. Pattee, Chairman, W. Perlman, J. Ross, V. Demasi, F. Shroeder, J. Beres
Absent: B. Hill
The Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
I. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Minutes of 6/15/10
On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of J. Ross, the Commission voted unanimously to approve the Minutes.
On the motion of J. Ross and the second of W. Perlman, the Commission voted unanimously to approve the Minutes of the June 21, 2010 Site Inspections. F. Shroeder abstained.
II. REGULATORY
Application #10-15, Connor and Virginia Murphy, (owners), 11 Topstone Road and adjacent Town R-O-W, Town of Redding, Natalie Ketcham (agent). Received 6/15/10. Discussion and possible vote on an application for Drainage Improvements to Topstone Road. Site Walk 6/21/10.
No one was present for the applicant. On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of F. Shroeder the Commission voted unanimously to hold a public hearing on Application #10-15 on August 3, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.
Metro North asked if they had to submit an application for a permit to install piping to reroute water that is too close to the tracks north of Umpawaug pond.
Permit #05-25, Erik Hoaglund, 471 Newtown Turnpike. Request to renew existing Permit to construct dwelling, driveway and well within the regulated area.
An email was received stating that Mr. Hoaglund could not be present at the meeting. The Commission decided to take no action on the request until the applicant is available to attend the next meeting and explain whether he is going to use the permit exactly as previously approved.
Application #10-16, Mely LLC (owners), New Canaan Design Partners (agent), 15 Main Street, Georgetown. To receive and discuss an application for demolition of existing superstructure and site stabilization within the regulated area.
Ellen Malmon from New Canaan Design Partners was present. She explained they are anxious to proceed with the demolition before the Town begins work on the road. They intend to stabilize the foundation before demolition and will surround the area with hay bales and plastic fencing.
The Commission scheduled a Site Walk for 7/9/10 at 5:30 p.m.
Application #10-17, Rory Pszenitzki (owner), Hallas Associates LLC, Gordon Hallas (agents), 45 Hill Road. To receive and discuss an application to replace entire garage structure on the same footprint within the regulated area.
Gordon Hallas was present for the applicant. The two story garage will be built on a new slab foundation.
The Commission scheduled a Site Walk for 7/9/10 at 6:00 p.m.
III. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
The Chairman will be away for the next meeting. It was decided V. Demasi will chair it in D. Pattee’s absence.
On the motion of V. Demasi and the second of J. Ross, it was voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 9:30 p.m.
