MINUTES
Tuesday, February 19, 2008
7:30 p.m. – Old Town House
Present: David Pattee, Chairman; Frederick Schroeder; Wallace Perlman.
Absent: Jeremiah Ross; William Hill; Joseph Beres; Victor DeMasi
The Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m.
I. APPROVAL OF MINUTES -Minutes 2/5/08
Vote pending quorum.
II. REGULATORY
Application #08-01, Temple B’nai Chaim (owners), Richard E. Kent ASLA (agent), 177 and 170 Portland Avenue. To receive and discuss an application to construct a one-story 6,647 s.f. addition to the existing building plus associated walk pavements, drive pavements, curbing, retaining wall, site lighting, grading and planting within the regulated area.
Atty. Neil Marcus was present along with Tom Quinn, Nick Yuschak and members of the Building Committee.
After an introduction by Atty. Marcus, Mr. Yuschak reviewed the proposal accompanied by drawings.
A site walk was scheduled for Sun., 2/24/08 at 9:00 a.m.
Application #08-02, Anastasia Song and Susan Flanagan (owners), Silvia F. Erskine Associates, LLC (agent), 43 Topstone Road. To receive and discuss an application for modifications to driveway, construction of fieldstone walls and steps, related grading and planting within the regulated area. Removal of invasive species and planting of native species within the regulated area.
Silvia Erskine was present for the applicant. She reviewed the proposal accompanied by drawings. Ms. Erskine noted that B. Sanford has reviewed the proposed new driveway location.
A site walk was scheduled for Sun., 2/24/08 at 9:30 a.m.
III. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
D. Pattee reported that Don Hain, Deer Warden, will attend an upcoming meeting. Date TBA.
The Endangered Land Coalition will make a presentation at the 3/18/08 meeting.
F. Schroeder is requesting assistance with invasive species removal from the Youth Conservation Group.
On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of F. Schroeder, the Commission voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 8:15 p.m.
