MINUTES

 

Tuesday, May 20, 2008

7:30 p.m. – Old Town House


 
Present:  David Pattee, Chairman; Jeremiah Ross; William Hill; Frederick Schroeder; Victor DeMasi; Wallace Perlman.
 
Absent:  Joseph Beres
 
The Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
 
I.            APPROVAL OF MINUTES                        -Meeting of 5/6/08
 


On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of J. Ross, the Commission voted unanimously to approve the 5/6/08 Meeting Minutes as amended: Page 3, second item under “Chairman’s Report”, change to “A letter has been prepared for the DEP and Board of Selectmen re: approved purchase of the Hanssen property.”


 
II.            REGULATORY
 


Application #08-04, Fred and Deanna Klumpp, 42 Lonetown Road.  Received 3/4/08.  Discussion and possible vote on an application to install a basketball court, 30’x45’ within the regulated area.  Site Walk 3/15/08.  Discussion 3/8/08; 4/1/08.  Received letter of extension.

 

Mr. Klumpp was present.  D. Pattee noted receipt of a letter of extension in addition to a memo from Milone & MacBroom dated 4/10/08 and a drawing from Mr. Klumpp dated 5/1/08.

 

On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of J. Ross, the Commission voted unanimously to approve Application #08-04.

 

Application #08-06, Don and Linda Longo, 710 Redding Road.  Received 3/18/08.  Discussion and possible vote on an application to construct a detached garage within the regulated area.  Site Walk 3/21/08.

 

Kate Throckmorton was present for the applicant.  She submitted and reviewed a response to the report from Milone & MacBroom and new plans.  Silt fence around the proposed stock pile area was discussed.

On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of W. Hill, the Commission voted unanimously to approve Application #08-06.

 

Application #7-20, George DiScala, 78 Dorethy Road.  Awaiting detailed proposal re estimated removal of 1000 yards of fill.

 

Mr. DiScala was present.  He displayed and reviewed an enlarged drawing.

 

On the motion of F. Schroeder and the second of J. Ross, the Commission voted unanimously to remove the violation with respect to 78 Dorethy Road and approve Application #07-20 with the condition of no further filling of the pond area.

 

Application #08-12, Alice Pardee (owner), S. Aimee Pardee (agent), 70 Greenbush Road.  To receive and discuss an application for pond restoration.

 

Mrs. Pardee and S. Aimee Pardee were present.  A. Pardee reviewed the history and present condition of the pond.  Drawings were displayed and reviewed along with the proposal.

 

A site walk was scheduled for Tues., 5/27/08 at 5:15 p.m. 

 

Application #08-13, Robert and Nancy Kocher (owner), Clark Construction, Darrell Botticelli (agent), 281 Redding Road. To receive and discuss an application for excavation and construction of a two-story addition and new deck within the regulated area.

 

A representative of Clark Construction was present.  The proposal was reviewed accompanied by drawings.  D. Pattee requested the addition of silt fence to the plan. 

 

A site walk was scheduled for Tues., 5/27/08 at 5:45 p.m.  The corners of the proposed addition should be staked.

 

Application #08-14, Susan and Jan Dorenbosch, 6 Charlie Hill Lane.  To receive and discuss an application to construct an in-ground swimming pool (cartridge filter), with patio, fence and deck extension within the regulated area.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Dorenbosch were present.  The drawing was displayed and the proposal reviewed.

 

A site walk was scheduled for Tues., 5/27/08 at 6:00 p.m.   D. Pattee requested that the applicant stake the corners of the proposed pool location.

Application #08-15, Cornelia Hurwitz, 2 Bald Rock Road.  To receive and discuss an application to construct an office addition with garage under and master bedroom over existing family room within the regulated area.


 


Mrs. Hurwitz was present.  After review of the proposal, a site walk was scheduled for Tues., 5/27/08 at 6:15 p.m.

 


III.            CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
 


C. Keil forwarded an email re: Bennett’s Farm hike, 5/25/08 at 11:00 a.m.

 

F. Schroeder reported that Sabrina Tenore, Picketts Ridge Road, would like permission to shoot a short film as part of her thesis. 

 

D. Pattee sent an email with GIS link.

 

F. Schroeder is organizing invasive species removal at Saugatuck Falls on 5/31/08, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

 

Pre-application meeting re: Gilbert & Bennett Phase I is scheduled for Wed., 5/28/08 at the Town Hall.

 

 

On the motion of V. DeMasi and the second of J. Ross, the Commission voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 9:25 p.m.
