MINUTES
 
Tuesday, June 19, 2007
7:30 p.m. - Old Town House
 
Present: David Pattee, Chairman; Jeremiah Ross; William Hill; Frederick Schroeder; Joseph Beres; Victor DeMasi; Wallace Perlman.
 
The Chairman called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
 
I.  APPROVAL OF MINUTES   Meeting of 6/5/07
                                    -Site Inspection of 6/8/07
                                                            M/M C. Burr, 19 Goodsell Hill Road
                                                            M/M D. Petrie, 14 Great Pasture Road
 
On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of J. Ross, the Commission voted unanimously to approve the 6/5/07 Minutes.
 
On the motion of J. Ross and the second of W. Perlman, the Commission voted unanimously to approve the 6/8/07 Site Walk Minutes.
 
II.  ADMINISTRATIVE
 
Application #07-11, Cameron and Carol Burr, 19 Goodsell Hill Road.  Received 6/5/07.  Discussion and possible vote on an application to construct portion of single family dwelling, well, roof and footing drain outlets within 100 ft. of a pond.  Site Walk 6/8/07.
 
Mrs. Burr and M. Mazzucco were present.  Mr. Mazzucco reviewed and submitted lot line revisions. 
 
On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of J. Beres, the Commission voted unanimously to approve Application #07-11 with the condition that the stone wall to the NNW and the land beyond remain undisturbed.
 
Application #07-12, avid and Paige Petrie, 14 Great Pasture Road.  Received 6/5/07.  Discussion and possible vote on an application to tear down old garage and shed and build new garage within the regulated area.  Site Walk 6/8/07.
 
Mr. Petrie was present.  Site walk findings were reviewed.  D. Pattee added silt fence locations to the plan.  Mr.  Petrie initialed this addition.
 
On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of J. Ross, the Commission voted unanimously to approve Application #07-12.
 
Application #07-13, Marlene and Christopher Kopec, 29 Deacon Abbott Road.  To receive and discuss an application to install an inground swimming pool approximately 77' from a wetland.
 
Marlene Kopec was present.  The proposal was reviewed and D. Pattee confirmed that a cartridge filter is proposed.  A site walk was scheduled for Fri., 6/22/07 at 5:30 p.m.  D. Pattee requested the applicant to stake the proposed location of the four pool sides.
 
Application #07-14, Paul Shiverick/Matt Meehan (owners), North Point Construction (Mark Giumarra), agent, 226 and 230 Poverty Hollow Road.  To receive and discuss an application to cut back briar, remove dead wood and to remove debris piles.
 
M. Giumarra was present for the applicant.  He displayed an existing conditions map and reviewed the proposal.  A site walk was scheduled for Fri., 6/22/07 at 5:45 p.m.
 
Application #07-15, Jarl Granskog (owner), North Point Construction (Mark Giumarra), agent.  264 Newtown Turnpike.  To receive and discuss an application to remediate small runoff at holding pond from road and property ground water.
 
M. Giumarra was present for the applicant.  The proposal was reviewed and a site walk was scheduled for Fri., 6/22/07 at 6:15 p.m.
 
III. PRESENTATION
 
Presentation by Steve Patton, The Nature Conservancy, re Open Space purchase, 67 Glen Hill Road.
 
S. Patton submitted photos and reviewed the proposed joint purchase by the Nature Conservancy and the Town of Redding.  He requested letters of support to the Board of Selectman for the 6/25/07 hearing and to the CT DEP in support of the Town and Conservancy applying for a grant.
  
On the motion of F. Schroeder and the second of W. Perlman, the Commission voted unanimously to recommend to the Town and the DEP that the purchase of the Levine property be approved since it is consistent with Conservation Commission goals and with the Town Plan of Conservation & Development.
 
IV.  CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
 
D. Pattee reviewed a memo from the Planning Commission re: site walk Minutes, Sunnyview Drive.  T. Gormley will be requested to inspect the reports of landscaping affecting siltation and drainage on Redding Land Trust and abutting property owners. 
 
C. Keil will distribute copies of a draft Green Plan.
 
Re: Noice property.  Correspondence was noted from Mr. and Mrs. Oppenheimer requesting a dry well and M. Lillis agreeing to the request.
 
 
On the motion of V. DeMasi and the second of W. Hill, the Commission voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 9:25 p.m.
