MINUTES
 
Tuesday, May 2, 2006
Old Town House - 8:00 p.m.
 
Present:  David Pattee, Chairman; Jeremiah Ross; William Hill; Frederick Schroeder; Victor DeMasi; Wallace Perlman.
 
Absent: Joseph Beres
 
The Chairman called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m.
 
V. DeMasi stated that he has listened to the tapes of Public Hearing on Application #06-01, Riverbend.
 
I.  APPROVAL OF MINUTES           -Meeting of 4/18/06
                        -Site Walk Minutes 4/21/06-M/M J. Nevins, 41 Chalburn Rd.
                                                                     -M/M P. Shiverick, 226 Poverty Hollow Rd.
 
On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of J. Ross, the Commission voted unanimously to approve the 4/18/06 Meeting Minutes.

 

On the motion of J. Ross and the second of W. Perlman, the Commission voted to approve the 4/21/06 Site Walk Minutes.  W. Hill abstained.

 
II.  REGULATORY
           
            Ronald Mangini, 78 George Hull Hill Road.  To discuss the details of the           remediation plan submitted to the Commission.  Discussion 10/4/05; 11/15/05; 12/20/05.
 
            D. Pattee will contact Robinson & Cole regarding this matter.
 
Application #06-12, Betsy and Paul Shiverick (owners), North Point Construction (Mark Giumarra, agent), 226 Poverty Hollow Road.  Received 4/18/06.  Discussion and possible vote on an application for replacement/installation of septic system within the regulated area.   Site Walk 4/21/06.
 

M. Giumarra was present for the applicant.   Silt fence to be installed between the ends of the two stone walls was drawn onto the map by D. Pattee.

 
            On the motion of W. Perlman and the second of J. Ross, the Commission voted unanimously to approve Application #06-12.
 
Application #06-13, Georgetown Fire District -Business offices (owners), Daniel Conlon (agent), 61 Redding Road.  To receive an application for total renovation of building-tear down and rebuild with addition within the regulated area.
 
            D. Conlon and M. Mazzucco were present for the applicant.  The proposed plan
was reviewed by D. Conlon accompanied by drawings and maps.  A site walk was scheduled for Sun., 5/7/06 at 9:00 a.m.  D. Pattee requested that the proposed corners of the building toward the street be staked as well as the proposed parking area.

 
III. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
 

            D. Pattee updated the status of Application #06-01.
 
Tim Abbott will be speaking on 5/4/06 at 7:30 p.m. for the Invasive Species Education Initiative.

 

F. Schroeder noted the 5/20/06 removal of invasive species at Saugatuck Falls from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

 

D. Pattee photographed water levels at the bridge at Umpawaug Road and Route 53 during the recent rain storm.

 

J. Ross reported on Georgetown Day to be held on Sun., 6/11/06.  Assistance in removal of excess woodchips was requested.

 

 

On the motion of V. DeMasi and the second of J. Ross, the Commission voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 9:00 p.m.
