The Code of Ethics of the Town of Redding became effective on August 1, 1973, following a Special Town Meeting. It was most recently amended in 1993. The Board of Selectmen appoints members of the Board of Ethics to investigate "allegations of unethical conduct, corrupting influence for illegal activities levied against any municipal officer or employee." The Board of Ethics prepares a report of its findings for the Board of Selectmen who "shall take such action as it may deem appropriate."
Members of the Board of Ethics are Town officials appointed by the Board of Selectmen.
